Kabhi Khwab Mein ya Khayal Mein

Movie: Daddy (1991)
Music: Rajesh Roshan
Singers: Dilraj Kaur, Talat Aziz
Lyrics:
Kabhi khwaab mein ya khayal mein-2
Kabhi Zindgani ke dhar pe
Mein adhoora sa ek geet hoon
mujhe arth de to savaar ke
Kabhi……
Woh benaam see koi justjuu woh apne aap se guftagoo
Tujhe choo liya to mujhe laga
Din aa gaye hain karaar ke
Kabhi……
Mere dil ki nagari mein bass- o- bhi ja
Tujhe baksh dun zameen aasmaan
Mujhe dar hain teri awaargi kaheen do jahaan na ujaad de
Kabhi…
Na mili thi tum to tha jee raha
Na milo gi to na jee paa-u-ga
Meri tishnagi ko jaga diya tere saath ne tere pyaar ne
Kabhi….
Go aaj pehli yeh raat hain tere haath mein mera haath hai
Tha bahut dino se yeh faisla
Tujhe jeet loongi mein haar ke
Kabhi….

Playing the Fund Manager I

Finally I took the plunge, bit the bait and put some money to watch the bulls and bears fight!

I want to put to test the theories which I have learnt in the classroom and by word of mouth from the market gurus.

Background and Philosophy

I am starting with a corpus of INR 100k with two asset classes to choose from: Equity and Cash. As time passes, I would choose more asset classes and perhaps more scrips and instruments within the asset class.  I am a salaried individual and thus have a limited cash flow. I am planning to invest 5-10k per month depending on the market and other personal conditions. I have access to a live terminal during my work hours with the portfolio on the screen (Perks of the job!). I would adhere to the philosophy of buy low and sell high.

Equity: These would include, but are not limited to equity shares.

Cash: The most liquid asset, forms a vital part of the portfolio. It would also enable me to build up my portfolio if I have a certain view of the market.

During the course of my journey I would also be tabulating results and publish my anaylsis.

Looking forward to the thrills and spills of the market!

2009 was here

Dormant to the point of being extinct; the writer in me was behaving like a prehistoric beast who was too lazy to move and hit a few keys and click some buttons. Perhaps the presumed "pressure" of a job was getting to me. Or was it that some freaking retards were trying to take control of the Mehul's way of life? Whatever it was, ensued a long silence on the digital front. My writing style can at best be described as random with utter disregard for the limitations punctuations impose on the freedom of expression. I started blogging in the 2004th year of the Lord and thought I was the coolest kid on the planet. 2009 was a shocker. With a breed of "tweeple"for whom anything over 140 char. was gibberish and comprehensible were influencing mass opinions. The year saw some cool politicos being pulled up for venting steam in public for wordplay. And I thought that writing and publishing was for the elite. The pure exhilaration of seeing your name in print was simply unmeasurable in the past, now it was "no big deal". The era supercharged information and sound bytes has begun.

Hello World

"Hello World", the first program which the computing text books describe so gleefully as if there is no better joy than a successful execution of the code which you have typed with suspicion in mind.
So what better title could I possibly give the first post which happens to be on this blog.
The possibilities are endless when you start with a greeting.
One could argue that it could have been a mechanical "Greetings Martians/Earthlings!" had I subscribed to the X Files mania. Or it may have been in a typically fancy language, especially that sophisticated one, down of United Kingdom, of a country known for its high taste and low moral standards.
Since one has to be politically correct and prove to be a citizen of the world: "Hello world".
